Principle

An optical sensors controlled passageway with bars to prevent unauthorized access. Designed to be in sight of reception staff, the Argus takes the problem out of checking individual passes whilst allowing authorized persons to pass unhindered. The unit is at its optimum when used in conjunction with a hands free access system in which allows the bars to stay in the opening position until an unauthorized person is detected.

Operation

    The barrier bars open and close automatically.

    Adjustable modes of operation are:

      Open ground state

The barriers are being closed automatically as soon as an unauthorized passage is registered.

      Closed ground state

The barrier bars are being opened / closed automatically in respect to passage direction and then closed / open again.

Description

Advanced design:

The design includes a highly rigid self-supporting frame; integrating the electromechanical assembly, which utilizes and advanced system of AC-motors with frequency drives, for each of the retractable security panels. Sensors include: actuation, blocking, tracking, and safety sensors. All of which are synchronized through the use of a Programmable Logic Controller. Model 820 relies on enhanced programming logic and analysis to maximize the Anti-tailgating effectiveness of the additional blocking and tracking sensors located at the entrance (UN-secured) side of the portal.

Maintenance and service:

Hinge- mounted key-locked cabinet panels can be dismantled to allow easy access to both the electro-mechanical drive and to the electronic control units. In addition, general cleaning and maintenance are minimal. Advanced computer diagnostics is the cornerstone of the design.

 

Physical Access Control:

The unit is made of ANSI 316 stainless steel, hairline satin finish. These end sections integrate visual cueing devices, as well as the users access control devices (badge, biometrics, ticket reader, etc.) to provide safe and quick passage in one or both directions. Model 820 / 820D utilizes larger entrance end sections to accommodate additional sensors, which provide additional protection.

 

Safety barrier panels:

Security barrier(s) panels completely retract into the cabinet during each movement, utilizing specially designed safety finger guards. Optional materials and custom tinting are available.

 

Photoelectric sensors:

Combination of actuating, blocking, tracking, and safety sensors ensuring users a safe passage through the portal. Model 820 / 820D Anti-tailgating protection is enhanced with additional blocking and tracking sensors located at the entrance (UN-secured) side of the portal.

OPTICAL PORTALS:

The Model 820 / 820D Barrier type Turnstile is designed and manufactured by ACE Automatic Systems (HK) Company. This unique pedestrian access turnstile installed in conjunction with any access control system provides a maximum degree of entrance security. Designed to provide optimum pedestrian throughput, in an elegant, sophisticated and discreet manner, which is essential for today corporate environment.

 

SECURITY:

The Model 820 / 820D utilizes retractable security barriers, which are both safe and unobtrusive to the authorized user. However, by utilizing certain access options, barriers do provide an insurmountable obstacle to an UN-authorized user. The 820 unit adds additional blocking and tracking sensors to the entrance (UN-secured) side of the portal, which significantly improves the Anti-tailgating detection capabilities. Both audio and visual alarms assist security personnel in monitoring access.

 

THROUGHPUT:

A programmable logic controller (PLC) allows the Optical sensors to fully integrate with other systems. As a result, it operates in numerous modes, thereby facilitating the uninterrupted passage of large numbers of authorized people, which is especially important during peak hours. The expected throughput capacity is 45 people per minute, per lane.

 

SAFETY:

Many required safety features are provided, including the emergency opening of the retractable security barriers in the event of a power failure, fire alarm, or other emergency situations. In addition, both audio and visual indicators are used to assist both users and security personnel.

Installation Pattern

An access walkway has Left & Right gate, each gate consists of single or double obstacle barrier(s) & operating individually or simultaneously.

For series of several access walkways, place one or more intermediate units with double obstacle barriers between them & operating individual or simultaneously with each other (see below).
